Traveling to Albuquerque


By Air:  The Albuquerque International Sunport is conveniently located minutes from the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. Some nearby hotels offer complimentary airport and hospital shuttle service (listed below).  
By RailAmtrak's Southwest Chief, running from Chicago to Los Angeles, provides daily service to Albuquerque.   The station is located in downtown Albuquerque at 214 First St SW.
By Bus:  Greyhound Lines / NM&O provides bus service to Albuquerque via Amarillo, El Paso, Denver, Flagstaff, and Durango. 


Many hotels in the area surrounding UNM offer discounts.  Please ask when making reservations.  Also, some hotels offer free shuttles to/from the airport and University. The Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta is October 6-14, 2018.  Hotel rooms may be difficult to find during this time and will be higher in price.

Rental Car:  Most major car rental agencies have outlets at the Albuquerque International Sunport.
Driving To UNMH:  The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center is easily accessible from both I-25 and I-40.  From I-25 North, take the Lomas Blvd. exit and travel two blocks east to UNMH.  From I-25 South, take the Martin Luther King, Jr. exit and travel north on the frontage road to Lomas Blvd., then travel two blocks east to UNMH.  From I-40, take the Carlisle exit and travel south to Lomas Blvd, then west on Lomas to UNMH.  University Hospital is on the UNM Health Sciences campus, which is adjacent to the University of New Mexico.  Health Sciences Center Map.

Parking At UNMH: Free applicant parking is available in the patient parking structure (turn north off Lomas Street onto Yale).
