Fellowship Application Instructions

MSK Fellowship applications for the 2019-2020 academic year are now being accepted.

We are not accepting applications for Interventional Radiology, our 2019 position is filled.

Applications for Neuroradiology the 2019-2020 academic year  will be accepted starting July 1, 2017.  For Neuroradiology, interviews can be conducted by phone/skype (video) or in person.

Application for Breast Imaging the  2019-2020 academic year are being accepted starting July 1, 2017.  The fellowship will be participating in the Breast Imaging Fellowship match for this position.

Step 1:  Applicants for all fellowships are required:

  • A graduate of an ACGME accredited Radiology Residency Program at the time of entrance into the fellowship  or
  • A graduate of an AOA accredited osteopathic Residency Program in the United States at the time of entrance into the fellowship and
  • Board eligible at the time of entrance into the fellowship and
  • Eligible for licensure by the state of New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners  and
  • A U. S. citizen, resident with a valid work permit, or visitor with a J-1 visa, (no other visa status is accepted)

All completed applications from qualified applicants will be reviewed.

Step 2:  Research Our Program

Please visit the Department of Radiology Fellowship Web Site  which contains information about our fellowship programs.

Step 3:  Submit an Application (for Neuroradiology, Breast Imaging and MSK only, IR Applications must be submitted through ERAS)

Please mail a completed application form.  The following informaiton will be required.

  • your personal statement (PDF)
  • photo (File can be any of the following types: jpg, jpeg, png, bmp, tif, pdf)
  • CV (PDF)
  • USMLE Step 1, 2 and 3 exam scores (PDF)
  • 3 letters of recommendation (one must be from a Program Director).  Letters of Recommendation can be addressed: 'Dear Program Director'.

Letters of recommendation must be emailed to Hollie Medina at hmedina@salud.unm.edu .  Letters can be sent by Program Director, Program Coordinator or Letter Writer.  In the subject area of the email, please list the Applicant's Name and Fellowship Program.


Step 4:  Participate in "The Match" (Breast Imaging and Neuroradiology)

Submit your Rank Order List to the National Residency Matching Program.
